Refresh your Body & Mind with Cooling, Fragrant Baths

Traditionally, aromatic herbal baths infused with botanicals such as fresh or dried flower petals, leaves, roots, or fruits were recommended for not only cleansing the skin, but also for their medicinal and aromatherapy properties. They were often used to help alleviate muscle pain, chase away a cold, mental fatigue, and improve circulation, as well as for their cosmetic benefits to the skin and hair.

While infusing your bath with botanicals sounds like an elusive and ancient luxury, it can be immensely helpful to slow down in today’s day and age, and make your bath a quiet sanctuary to retreat and refresh.

Recreate Your Own Herbal Bath

The key to a relaxing bath is to be generous with the botanicals. We recommend adding one to two eight-ounce cups of dry or fresh botanicals for each bath. Additionally, preparing the bath in lukewarm water not only calms the senses, but also increases the efficacy of the botanicals in greater capacity. Our Ayurveda experts also recommend massaging your body with cold pressed Ayurvedic Body Massage Oils before you lay in the prepared bath.

A minimum of twenty minutes is recommended to soak in the benefits of the prepared bath.

For the most effective results to show on your hair and your skin, follow your luxurious botanical soak with 100% natural body care products to seal in the benefits.

Here is a special curation of botanicals that you could avail from your closest florist or grocery store and the Forest Essentials’ skincare products to compliment them for your bath:

Rose:

Add fresh or dried rose petals to your bath for added benefits. Due to its natural complexion enhancing and exceptionally hydrating properties, Rose is known to bestow a healthy, glowing quality to the skin. In addition to its exquisitely intoxicating aroma, the Rose has mood uplifting qualities that impact our emotions positively. You may follow it with Forest Essentials Body Polisher Hydrating Sea Salt Crystal Rose for deeply exfoliated, silken soft skin with a delicate fragrance.

Jasmine:

The Jasmine flower is cold in potency, and yet it balances all three doshas. In addition to the fresh or dried flowers of Jasmine, its leaves can be also added to the bath for their complexion enhancing and balancing properties. Follow this by exfoliating your skin with the Forest Essentials Body Polisher Cane Sugar & Tamarind for unrivalled smoothness and dazzling radiance.

Turmeric:

The use of Turmeric (haridra) is an ancient Indian herbal remedy that purifies the skin and gives it a natural glow. Add some to your bath for its purifying, anti-oxidant properties. Note, Turmeric may mildly add colour to the skin, hence it is recommended you wash the skin thoroughly after. You may also follow it with Forest Essentials Body Polisher Sandalwood & Turmeric to brighten skin and remove tan.

As a final step, we recommend drenching your skin in moisture with one of the beautifully fragrance Ayurvedic Body Lotions for glowing skin. As these body lotions come in various fragrances, you may choose an aroma of your preference, and conclude your specially curated bath on an aromatic note.
