Live Well: A Boost of Glow from Within

In today’s day and age, the mark of a purposeful and productive day begins by being rudely awakened with a shrill alarm, which is snoozed more times than ever. This is followed by eating the first thing one sees, with a cup of brewed latte that turns into an iced coffee, since it was made to wait longer than your boss at work. When one does have time on their hands, it is spent glaring at beautiful images on social media, longing for a vacation or wanting to go for a spa to “unwind”. Not only is this hyperactive routine bad for your health but it can also cause early signs of aging on the skin. In Ayurveda, a person is considered to be a unit formed by his mind, body, and soul. Such hectic regimes can cause an imbalance in these elements or Doshas.

Ayurveda & Wellness

Ayurveda asks you to pause for some time and become aware of your senses, by consciously choosing to begin the day by surrounding yourself with nature and practicing a small ritual of your preference. This can be as simple as having a glass of lemon-infused water every morning, practicing yoga or gazing at the sun for a few minutes, as these rituals lend a sense of comfort. Instead of rushing off into the world with your earphones on, Ayurveda hints at engaging your five senses, the first thing in the morning. Aid this with something pleasant, such as incense, flowers or a splash of cold, clean water. This awareness also helps to reduce anxiety.

Here are a few steps and natural wellness products you can easily incorporate into your frenetic lifestyles for healthier skin, stronger immunity, and a serene mind:

  1. Slow Down With A Massage

Ayurvedic oils for body massage

Ayurveda intrinsically suggests a slow and gradual approach to beauty. Exploring the idea of ritualization of holistic beauty, celebrating mindfulness and self-expression, we encourage you to treat yourself to the ritual of the Ayurvedic Body Massage – Snehana, with our unique line of blended Body Massage Oils. Massages not only relax tense muscles but also allow you to slow down amidst the everyday chaos. Infused with pure Cow’s Ghee, fresh cold-pressed oils and mood-enhancing essential oils, our Ayurvedic oils for body massage are prepared with organically grown oils that are obtained from the first press of the seed.

Treat yourself to a massage once or twice a week, by warming a small quantity of oil, using a double boiler. Immerse the container of oil in a bowl (preferably a bowl made of Copper or Kansa metal) of hot water such that the oil gets heated indirectly. This method of heating ensures the efficacy of ingredients in the oil remains intact.

2. Scent Your Linens, Clothes & Surroundings

Like spritzing perfume on your pulse points uplifts the senses, similarly, scenting your surroundings, bed linen and clothes can have a calming effect on the mind. This may also help to induce restful sleep in case of sleeplessness and anxiety. May we suggest our organic Wax Tablets that delicately scent the area with warm and uplifting fragrances of Lemon Grass, Mandarin, Lavender & Rose. Use these for freshening drawers, shelves, and closets to keep your clothes fresh and fragrant all season long. Our Wax Tablets can also be left out in the open on a tray, to freshen and scent the surroundings. For delicate clothing, you may wrap the wax tablet in a muslin cloth or a drawstring pouch.

For a more potent fragrance, spritz our Room Surround Sprays, which are scientifically known to possess stress-relieving properties. You could also light a diffuser burner and add a few drops of the corresponding essential oil to that of the Room Surround Spray. This will make your room a sensorial sanctuary, ideal to relax and unwind.

3. Spritz Away Your Worries

Forest Essentials Tranquil Sleep Gel

Sleeplessness due to anxiety has become a major concern of today’s generation. A healthy and simpler alternative to aid sleep can include practicing a relaxing bedtime ritual, away from the bright lights and noise. We suggest using the De-Stress Therapy every night that naturally lulls you into a good night’s sleep. Spritz the Tranquil Sleep Spray on your neck and pillow. Inhaling its sweet and warm aroma of Lavender, Sandalwood, Geranium, and Nutmeg has a healing effect on the mind and soul. You could also use the Forest Essentials Tranquil Sleep Gel, enriched with Lavender, Grapefruit and fresh Vetiver root. Massage a small amount on your neck and temples for a calming effect. If you’re having a stressful day at work or busy with perpetual travel, use the Stress Relief Spray, infused with fresh lime and mint, on your wrists and temples, to improve concentration, alleviate tension and anxiety.

As a gentle reminder, we suggest you follow these tips to re-invigorate the five senses and take in the world with a refreshed mind and soul.
