Amidst all the chaos, festivals and celebrations bring about a sense of calm, togetherness and happiness in our lives. Unlike previous years, this festive season might be a more intimate affair, but the spirit of celebration and positivity doesn’t have to fade away. Take forward the timeless at-home traditions that have been practiced by your parents and grandparents, to bestow serenity, positivity, prosperity and good health.
Since time immemorial, the sheer act of lighting diyas has signified the presence of the Divine, while resisting negativity. The traditional Puja Oil people used, would be infused with the base of pure Cow’s Ghee and had a spiritual significance and purity.
Metaphorically, the “oil” represents our ‘Vaasanas or negative tendencies’ and the “wick” of the diya represents ‘ego’. As these Vaasanas are exhausted, the flaming ego also perishes.
Traditionally, Puja Oil, that was used during the festivities to light diyas, was meticulously procured using precise proportions of highly potent, hand pressed virgin oils as mentioned in the Vedic scriptures. These oils were known for their auspiciousness and ability to purify the surroundings. Basis these Ayurvedic texts and recipes, Forest Essentials formulated a blend of potent oils and pure Cow’s Ghee, to create our Lakshmi Puja Oil which has become a cult favorite with time.
Hand-made with care and during the most auspicious time of the day, the Forest Essentials Lakshmi Puja Oil uses an authentic blend of cold pressed, virgin oils and pure Cow’s Ghee, each of which has its own spiritual significance to invoke an atmosphere of purity, concentration and harmony. Ghee attracts Satvic, the purest vibrations from the atmosphere, to enlighten the state of mind. This Puja Oil uses cold pressed Black Sesame Oil that is known to dispel negative influences, and is offered to the Gods during festivities. The oil infusions of Basil, Mahau, Clove and Virgin Coconut create a purifying blend that attracts wealth, prosperity, serenity and blessings of Lord Shiva and Ganesh. Even today, Puja Oil holds utmost importance during religious ceremonies and Hindu festivals including Diwali. For at-home puja, our auspicious Lakshmi Puja Oil has become a cherished addition to the traditional Laung, Supari, Paan Patta, Elaichi that is kept in the thali for performing Lakshmi Puja.
Pour the Forest Essentials Lakshmi Puja Oil into diya, soak the cotton wick and light. Alternatively, this can also be used in a diffuser burner for a light fresh fragrance.
