Healthy Hair & Plump Skin With The Warm Embrace Of Ayurvedic Oils
The concept of massage began in India over 2000 years ago, as a principle component of Ayurvedic self-care. Following this ancient Indian tradition, Forest Essentials features the perfect, most effective selection of Ayurvedic and cold-pressed oils that firm and tone the muscles, relieve pain and lend a glossy shine to the hair.
From using grated white flesh of juicy Coconuts to procure the richest extract, the first press of Sweet Almonds, which has the most nutritious oil to formulating a decoction of herbs to enhance their efficacy, these oils lend highly effective solutions to all skin and hair concerns. Our Cold-Pressed Virgin Almond and Coconut Oil use no external heat, maintaining the potency of its ingredients. While the Narayana Body Massage Oil uses Prakshep—a paste of soft and fragrant herbs, which is added to its base oils and simmered on slow heat, with Milk.
Our oils are different from the regular massage oils available in the market. The Cold-Pressed Oils are concoctions of the main ingredient—Coconut or Almond, which is blended with Vitamin E to boost collagen. The Narayana Body Massage Oil is a decoction, which uses Sesame Seed, Almond Oil and Mustard Oil as a base. However, its most potent ingredient is Eucalyptus, which is known to heal muscular aches while clarifying the skin. The infusion is done via Murchana—a process that involves boiling the base oils to increase their potency and lend it a natural colour.

Making of OilsThe Difference Between Concoction & Decoction
Whether the ingredients of an oil need to be blended or simmered, depends wholly on the ingredient itself. Creating a concoction suggests the usage of no external heat to create a mix, while a decoction requires a flame or exposure high temperature to mix well. The potency of dry fruits like Almonds and fruits like Coconut can reduce if exposed to high temperatures. We use Sweet Almonds and fresh Coconuts, the first press of which gives the most nutritious oil and can be used on the body, face and hair. These are also excellent anti-inflammatories that soothe the skin.
HOW TO USE
• Warm a small quantity of oil using the double boiler technique: immerse the container of oil in a bowl (preferably a Copper/Kansa metal bowl) of hot water such that the oil gets heated indirectly.
• Pour the amount of oil required and place it in the Kansa bowl.
• Use a kitchen towel or pincer to take the Kansa bowl out and place it on a flat surface for easy application.
• This method of heating ensures the ingredients of the oil remain intact to then maintain the efficacy of the massage that is to follow.
• Massage the body with firm and upward strokes. Keep on for 20-30 minutes. Follow with a warm bath.
• When using our cold-pressed oils for the hair, keep a light hand and divide strands to cover the entire scalp.
• Essential Tip: You can use the Almond & Coconut Oil on the lips, for a petal-soft finish.
“My favourite 'stress' or pain-relieving oil! Use the Narayana Oil on the weekends - before or after shower, perfect for Abhyanga (even if I end up doing it before bed, rather than first thing in the morning). I wake up refreshed. My shoulders usually mildly swell/hurt because of constant computer use - and this relieves that pain/swelling”

“I use the Forest Essentials Coconut Oil on my lips. Sometimes, I use it on my eyebrows and eyelids. I like it.”

“The FE Almond Oil has a natural fragrance like that of almonds we eat. You can tell by one swipe of this oil that it’s pure and healthy for the skin. It’s been 5 years and I’ve lost count of the bottles I’ve used. LOVE THIS!”
